Paulo Gonçalves [1979-2020]
Sad news from the Gulf: our great Paulo Gonçalves dies in the Paris-Dakar rally. Sorely missed.
We are sad beyond words to share that our Hero, Portuguese motorcycle rider Paulo Gonçalves, passed away today in Paris Dakar Rally.

"The Dakar mourns Paulo Gonçalves, one of the most experienced and beloved champions of the rally-raid family."
The Stage 8 for tomorrow is cancelled for bikes and quads categories. Why not all the riders rode stage 8 as one big group and not as a race, as a big goodbye to Paulo.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. A true champion, a great human being and, above all, a kindred spirit.
Looking back 2019 I've come up with a roundup of what's been the best post of my blog The Digital Teacher G-Souto. This time semester #2.
Below you’ll find the top posts along the second semester 2019 containing different themes: education & technology, apps, languages, arts, science, history, environment, literature, e-safety, bullying, sports, dance, children's rights among other.
The selection is based on page views but also based on pedagogical relevance of the most-read posts.
I kept the order of the most viewed, but eliminated the posts that seemed less relevant. The main reason? Sometimes some posts acquire too much visibility, not for their value but for the keywords that the search engines "like" indexing.

Leonard Bernstein
credits: H. Scott
So many of us who experienced Leonard Bernstein up close have a story to tell. Charismatic conductor and devoted educator - teacher at high school - popularized classical music at the concert hall and through television screen through his Young People's Concerts.
He also reimagined the role of the conductor as a vocal advocate for music’s ability to unite communities.
"Moreover, Bernstein loved all types of music, and strove to make Beethoven, Bach, and even the Beatles accessible for “students” ages 8 to 80 through his Young People’s Concerts."
Before Bernstein’s tenure, no widely-aired television show existed to educate youth through musical performances.
I remember being fascinated by the TV cameras. In those days TV was practically brand new, and seemed exotic.
Hoping to have inspired you in your lessons all over the year.
May 2020 be a successful year for all those teachers who teach with passion! Guiding our students to the future should be a mission from the heart!
