EU Photo Contest : Students, share your photos






Photo Competion Europe in my Region


Show how EU investments are being used where you live, work or travel! Participate in the Europe in My Region photo competition for a chance to win a photography workshop in Brussels and a two night trip to Brussels for two people, including travel and accommodation, between 10 - 13 October 2016.


"EU regional policy helps to boost small and medium-sized enterprises, improve transport links and brings broadband connections to remote regions, invests in a cleaner environment and improves education and skills. EU funding is also invested in innovation, developing new products and production methods, energy efficiency and tackling climate change."







The Competition:


The Europe in My Region Photo Competition aims to make citizens notice the excellent work that projects across Europe are doing with the help of EU funding, and explore what these projects mean to local communities.

To take part, you have to do is upload photos of a project clearly showing the billboard, plaque or poster, etc. with the EU flag somewhere in the picture, so we know that it has received EU funding. 

Have a look at the example photos below to see what the billboards and plaques look like.

Feel free to be creative and/or include some fun elements in the photo! We would also like to hear your impressions of the project and what it means to you.

Winners:


Three winners will be selected by a jury of photography and social media experts. and people vote.

Voting begins on 1 September and ends on 11 September

Any Facebook user can vote for your photo, so motivate your friends to do so! Winners will be announced on 16 September 2016.


Prize:


Each winner gets to participate in a photography workshop in Brussels, and wins a trip for two to Brussels during the European Week of Regions and Cities (10-13 October 2016).





What to do: 



To enter the competition, all you need to do is take a photo of a project receiving EU funding you know or have seen, with the EU funding information and the EU flag somewhere in the picture.


The deadline for submitting up to 3 photos is 28 August 2016, 23:59 Central European Summer Time.

How to take part in 3 steps:

  • Spot an EU-funded project;

  • Take a photo: EU flag and funding information should be clearly visible somewhere in the picture;

  • Submit up to 3 photos via the APP

  • Submission of photos: 2 May-28 August 2016, 23:59 CEST.

  • Voting: 1-11 September 2016, 23:59 CEST

  • Jury meeting: 12-15 September 2016

  • Announcement of the winners: 16 September 2016

  • Winners to come to Brussels: 10-13 October 2016

Interesting activity to students who love Photograpy or study Arts Pohtography, don't you think?

Students love participate in contests. They get excited to show off their skills no matter the contest. But a contest about photograpy?  

It will be gorgeous motivate students in Photography to the value of European cooperation. And seeing them to cross their city or region go to get a picture.

Participating in this photo contest uploading a photo that young people can shot in a big city, a small town, whatever.

Genre of photography that can be understood as the product of an artistic interaction between a photographer and an urban public space with EU fundings.

Street or urban photographer’s images are not intended to illustrate a new story. Instead, their primary goal is expressive and communicates a subjective impression of the Eu fundings in their region. 

The contest could be an interesting activity to those students who are enjoying summer holidays or to those students who preparing their exams. During a breack and going, a good relaxing activity.
