L'organisation Aide et Action favorise la scolarisation des filles pour leur permettre d'avoir une chance de s'en sortir. Elles aident les villages à créer des structures communautaires pour le soutien de l'école afin que les jeunes filles puissent apprendre à lire, écrire et compter.

Éducation:

Le parrainage est donc un geste de solidarité et d'ouverture culturelle permettant de soutenir un projet éducatif. Il constitue également un outil pédagogique pour travailler avec les jeunes !

1. Correspondance scolaire (lettres) - cours de Langues;

2. Découverte et étude culturelle d'un pays - cours d'Histoire et Géographie

3. Création d'un journal au sein de classe ou de l'école (transversale)

4. Club Parrainage - permet de faire travailler les jeunes écoliers sur des compétences comme le travail en groupe, le respect, la citoyenneté, la solidarité.

Tous les enfants du monde doivent fréquenter l'école ou au moins avoir la possibilité d'apprendre à lire et à écrire, que ce soit garçon ou fille.

Un avenir sans livres est un avenir sombre, triste et sans poésie. L'alchimie de l'être humain passe par sa culture émotionnelle faite des mémoires de ses lectures.

Les couloirs labyrinthiques de la vie seront pénibles, épuisants, maladroits sans savoir lire et écrire.

Que l'immense horizon, éblouissant, s'ouvre devant les yeux de toutes les personnes, indépendamment d'âge, sexe ou nationalité!

 Five-time Oscar-winning composer John Barry, who wrote music for nine or ten James Bond films, including "You Only Live Twice" and "Goldfinger" has died last month, in New York.

He scored dozens of films, that called for music to express a wide variety of human emotions and dramatic situations.  The britsh composer of jazzy scores for  “From Russia With Love", "Goldfinger” and other James Bond films won five Academy Awards as a composer for “Born Free,” “Dances With Wolves” and other films. 

"Barry's influence was not just in the strange beauty of his chord sequences but also his taste for unusual instrumentation: there were plucked harps, there were Moogs (again, ahead of pretty much everyone in the UK) used to heighten suspense and mystery, and most importantly there was the cimbalom."

He will remain in our swetest memoirs touched by movies as "Dances with Wolves", "Out of Africa", "Indecent Proposal", "The Cotton Club" among others. 

It is impossible to wrote of a 50-year career briefly. I  love good movies! And I think the soundtrack is one of the best elements of a film. John Barry touched many lives with his poetic soundracks.

In an interview in 2008 with The Irish Times, Barry said his success "was not that difficult."

"If you hit the right formula, if you have an instinct for music, if you apply it, if you have the good fortune to meet with certain people who teach you well ... I didn't find it all that difficult,"

It is very noble from Barry not to forget the importance of a good teacher!

Schools : World Cancer Day ! Take part !

World Cancer Day is the one singular initiative under which the entire world can unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic. It takes place every year on 4 February.

World Cancer Day aims to prevent millions of deaths each year by raising awareness and education about cancer, and pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action against the disease.

The Google Art Project? Fantastic Resource !

"Explore museums from around the world, discover and view hundreds of artworks at incredible zoom levels, and even create and share your own collection of masterpieces."

Yesterday night, I discovered from @Google on Twitter, the fantastic Art Project ! Oh! I have been exploring some of the famous painting for hours. A wonderful art tour! I couldn't believe it! 


What is Art Project? Google Art Project is a virtual project in collaboration with some world's most acclaimed Art Museums. 


Seventeen world's masterpieces can now be observed to the last detail. Powered by a broad, connected suite of Google technologies, the world's great works of art and museums are now within reach to an unprecedented global audience.

Museums like the the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Tate Britain and the National Gallery in London, and the Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam), among many others. Amazing!

The new art project is housed at an interactive website, Googleartproject.com. Once inside the site, viewers can travel through a museum’s interior through the same technology used to navigate city streets on Google Maps and Google Earth. People can move from room to room within the virtual space; over 1000 artworks painted by 400 artists can be seen.

How do you get started on the website?

Select a museum from the homepage and then either chose ‘Explore the museum’ or ‘View Artworks’. Once you are in the main site, use the drop-down menus or the side info bar to navigate between artworks and museums.

You have the option to create  and share your own artwork collection online. You must click on Create a collection

Education: 

Such a wonderful tool art for educators and students! If you are Arts educator you have the best motivation for your students. Visit Education page

• Teachers will choose a masterpiece or will create a gallery to prepare some lessons.

• Students will have the opportunity to explore some of the most beautiful masterpieces.

• Students and educators have the option to create and share their own artwork collection while visiting each museum. They must be signed into a school Google account or their own Google account that they can use in the classroom.

The Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium, Brussels, is proud to be part of the second phase of the Google Art Project. 

In December 2011, a team of the Google Art Project came to Brussels to digitize the masterpiece of Bruegel the Elder "The Fall of the Rebel Angels" (1562).

Creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson challenges us all the time to educate our students cultivating creativity and and acknowledge multiple types of intelligence.

How interesting it would be showing the video to your students as a motivation for one of your lessons?

As educators, we do realize how our students are creative in many ways. We can develop the creativity of young people as a competency in the acquisition of knowledge moving beyond the system of some tradtional schools.
