The book focuses on the locations and sets. There are environment concept art, stories on how the sets were build, what was filmed there, how the props were created, how the sets relate to the movie and the book, and many other bits of interesting details.

Schools : Peace Day : #CyberNonviolence & #ClimateAction4Peace !

20 Years of Peace One Day

"The time of universal peace is near.
Prove this a prosperous day, the three nooked world shall bear the olive freely"

William Shakespeare, from Antony & Cleopatra

This Peace Day, Saturday 21 September 2019, marks 20 years since the launch of Peace Day.

"Peace One Day’s objective is to institutionalize Peace Day 21 September. Throughout 20 years, millions of people have been active on Peace Day in every country of the world, and hundreds of organizations have carried out life-saving activities in areas of conflict."

Peace One Day is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1999. In 2001 due to our efforts the member states of the United Nations unanimously adopted the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence on 21 September – Peace Day.

Theme 2019:
2019 sees the launch of Peace One Day’s new campaign “Cyber Non-violence”, seeking to decrease online hate speech, racism, bullying and ridicule, and hoping to see an increase in peaceful communication online.

Education:

Peace Day invite students, teachers, schools and youth organization all over the world to participate in this year’s focus youth project: #PeaceDay193.
  • Aim:
The ambition is - for the first time ever - to record young people committing to Peace Day across all 193 UN Member States.

On Peace Day, 21 September, we will compile 193 photos of young people (1 selected from each country) as an artistic installation at the flagship Peace Day celebration, in London. It will look incredible!

#PeaceDay193

To get involved, simply SIGN-UP and Send a Photo displaying your national flag and #PeaceDay193’. Simple, isn't it?

This photo is an opportunity for any young person (under 25), school or youth organization to be the face of peace advocacy for all of your country.

Through the photo, you can express your creativity, send a powerful message, showcase any branding, honour national identity or simply share a smile and a peace sign! For more information download the project

In a questionnaire among the Peace One Day Global Schools’ Network, more than two-thirds (68%) of responding schools stated that pupils act more peacefully on Peace Day (in comparison to any other school day).

Individual behavioral change is the platform upon which young people play an essential role in a much bigger story of positive progress. Through creative contribution, achievement through teamwork, and community development, young people understand - experientially - what it means to ‘make a difference’.

Peace Day presents schools, young people, teachers, parents and anti-bullying groups with a valuable focal point for their efforts in combating cyber-bullying worldwide.

Peace Day wants to decrease online hate speech, racism, bullying and ridicule on Peace Day 21 September 2019.

#CyberNonviolence
  • Activities: Schools
I'm sure teachers and schools have organized activities on Cyber non-violence throughout this school year that help raise awareness of Peace Day 21 September and encourage students, parents and other to join the campaign.

Choose to mark the day, this year, one day, before or after, because 21 September is on Saturday whatever the scale of their activity, their commitment matters.

Invite your students to create public or private activities related to peace, and cyber non-violence to help spread the word about Peace Day and/or attend an event in their city or community.

Peace Day 2019
#Cybernonviolence

  • Post on social media your pledge:
On Peace day I will speak words of love, forgiveness, calm, mutual respect and civility. I pledge not to engage with others online in a way that spreads hate, racism, bullying, ridicule or revenge. #CyberNonViolence #OnlineNonViolence #PeaceDay21.

International Climate Action for Peace
September 21 is also UN International Day of PeaceSustainable Development Goal 13 Climate Action is a call for immediate action by all to lower greenhouse emissions, build resilience and improve education on climate change.

Theme 2019: "Climate Action for Peace"
The theme draws attention to the importance of combating climate change as a way to protect and promote peace throughout the world.

Young people are stepping up to the challenge - close to half a million youth around the world have taken action on climate change in their homes, schools and communities.

August in review : Music, Photography, Environment & Youth !

Back from my summer break, Yes! Summer breakhere I am again! Well, finally Summer arrived on the north of Portugal! August was a cold month.

September entered quite nice! On the beach lovely weather! No windy days, such a wonderful time! The sea! Cold water, of course, no problem! And so relaxing to walk by the sea, feeling the freshness. A lot of young kids surfing! Finally, we could enjoy summer!

Well, no more rêverie! It's time to the review of the most popular posts of August.

Remember how hard it is to swap those lazy summer days for early mornings? The classroom setting may have changed (hello, smartphones, tablets, new paper books) but going back to school can still feel like a chore.

Back to school? Hope you have a very good school year!

Summer holidays, last break !

illustration: Adolie Day

Pendant que certains défont la valise, moi je reprends la route des vacances pour mon deuxième petit break d'été.

Good morning from the north of Portugal! This second summer break not in the center of the country as my last one in July.

Perfect day admiring the river in front on me. 31 degrees? Wow! It's September now! Enjoying every bit.

Despite my best efforts to slow down time, only on September, as usual, I can go out for a little summer break! This time in Summer! Not in Autumn just like last year.

Hot summer is here. We feel it: the sun, th temperature, the nature. Well, it will be a good time, better vibes.

Summer break is obviously one of the best things humankind has ever come up with, I am excited! It's my 'second' break of this summerIn July, only a weekend.

Feeling so well! Tomorrow, we will go to the beach, near our country house. But so near from the beach. And the city, Viana do Castelo.

I will tell you later my short break. Not so bad, right?! Relaxing time!

Wherever you are I hope that you're having a great time too.

I'll be back posting the normal roundup next weekend.
