Although significant strides have been taken in reducing child labour over time, recent years have seen global trends reverse, underscoring the pressing need to unite efforts in expediting actions to eradicate child labour in all its manifestations.
With the adoption of Sustainable Development Goal Target 8.7, the international community made a commitment to the elimination of child labour in all its forms by 2025.
While much progress has been made in reducing child labour over the years, recent years have seen global trends reverse, and, now more than ever it is important to join forces to accelerate action towards ending child labour in all its forms.
The Africa and the Asia and the Pacific regions together account for almost nine out of every ten children in child labour worldwide.
Education:
Children should grow up in environments that promote their health and development. They should not be compelled to engage in manual labour for survival, as this exposes them to physical and emotional harm. Unfortunately, child labour and abuse remain widespread in many impoverished nations.
Teachers have a crucial roleon the alert of poverty or child labour and abuse among their students.
Numerous resources can be included into school curricula to inform, inspire and motivate students of all ages, from primary school to high-school, to get involved on a subject so terrible: child labour and child abuse.
Resources:
As part of the Supporting Children's Rights through Education, the Arts and the Media (SCREAM) Program implemented by the ILO to combat child labour, students from British Culture College who are conducting awareness-raising activities composed a song and recorded it in the studio.
Activities:
You will find an interesting number of Activities on my publication in 2018 to develop with your students inviting them to support the worldwide movement against child labour.
The UEFA European Championship is one of the world's biggest sporting events, although the competition's genesis was more difficult than might be expected.
Championships for national associations had already begun in other continents by the time the idea of a European competition for national teams began to reach fruition in the 1950s.
Last 14 June 2024, the celebration of 70 years of European football! UEFA was founded on that day in 1954! Bravo !
Germany is hosting EURO 2024 having been chosen to stage the 17th edition of UEFA European Championship at a UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Nyon on 2018.
This is the first time Germany has staged the UEFA European Championship since nreunification.
At the time that UEFA was born, in 1954, the impetus for a European Championship was coming from the distinguished French sports newspaper L'Equipe, which proposed a competition with home-and-away matches to be played in midweek in the evening.

Teachers will decide carefully which animated film for which students and level they are teaching. Must prepare very well your lessons including animated films and think on the activities they can present to the students.

Activities:
Choose different animated films from the Annie Awards to study in the curricula they are teaching. Pay attention to the age or level of the students.
Reviewing the Narrative;
Comparing children's literature or teen's literature adaptation to animated films if there is one or two based books;
Inviting the older students to critical thinking or to discuss critically or to give their opinion, expressing their feeling or preference of the animation they are exploring;
Critical writing presenting their opinions always adapted to the level or age;
Why not a cross-curricular project ? Ask some of your colleagues of different curricula to present some ideas and discuss them with the students.
Hoping you don't miss to include some of these animated films into your school curriculum to explore the pedagogical richness of awesome and so creative digital resources.
