There are many ways to act right now. Spark conversations about the urgent need for understanding, non-violence, and disarmament. Volunteer in your community, listen to voices different from your own, challenge discriminatory language in your school or  work.
Peace is not only a noble vision for humanity, it is a call to action. Each of us can heal divisions and embrace peace and understanding. We can call on our families and schools to do the same. 
Speak up, learn, practice respect, embrace diversity, protest injustice. Be the change you want to see! Begin in school !

Festa da Francofonia 2025

5 mars - 13 avril Portugal

La Fête de la Francophonie revient à Lisbonne du 5 mars au 13 avril pour faire découvrir la diversité des visages de la langue et de la culture françaises à travers une programmation culturelle et ludique pour tous les âges. Plus de 20 initiatives issues de 10 pays francophones seront à l’honneur : Andorre, Belgique, Canada/Québec, Côte d’Ivoire, France, Luxembourg, Maroc, Roumanie, Suisse et Tunisie.

 

La littérature et les arts visuels seront au cœur de cette édition, avec de nombreuses rencontres avec des écrivains, des lancements de livres et plusieurs expositions.

 

Nuit de la poésie

La Journée internationale de la Francophonie sera marquée par une Nuit de la Poésie (20 mars à 19h), où des poèmes seront lus à voix haute à la Médiathèque de l’Institut français du Portugal.

La Fête de la Francophonie s’étend aussi à d’autres disciplines artistiques. Dans le cadre du Festival Monstra, une sélection de 75 films francophones sera projetée (du 20 au 30 mars).

 

En spectacle vivant, la pièce Na Floresta Desaparecida de la compagnie Teatro Mosca sera jouée les samedis et dimanches à 16h, du 5 au 13 avril à l’AMAS – Auditório Municipal António Silva ,Shopping, Cacém.

 

 

Concert au Grand Auditorium

Le 13 avril, la Fête de la Francophonie se clôturera avec le Concert de l’Orchestre et du Chœur des Lycées Français du Monde au Grand Auditorium de la Fondation Calouste Gulbenkian (13 avril à 17h).

 

Un espace est également consacré à la durabilité et au sport, avec des activités favorisant la citoyenneté et l’engagement communautaire. Le 22 mars, un parcours pédestre mènera les participants à travers les sites historiques de la paroisse de Benfica avec l’initiative Benfica Footstep. Enfin, une Randonnée francophone se tiendra à Monsanto le 29 mars

Lycée Français Lisbonne

Les élèves du Lycée Français Charles Lepierre de Lisbonne donneront aussi la parole aux jeunesses francophones à travers des podcasts réalisés par le Club des Jeunes Journalistes. Ils mèneront des entretiens avec d’autres écoles pour aborder des thèmes tels que l’importance de la langue française dans le monde et les valeurs qu’elle véhicule.

On April 22nd, Earth Day will arrive! Earth Day 2023 begins on April 22nd. The day raises awareness among people need to protect Earth’s natural resources for future generations. 

April 22 marks the anniversary of the modern environmental movement in the 1970's start.  

The first official Earth Day was held in 1970, and the meaning behind it has remained unchanged. The holiday is meant to give support and raise awareness for environmental protection initiatives from around the world.

Similar to last year, Earth Day 2023 focuses on the need to Invest in Our Planet. This can be done through many initiatives, such as planting trees, voting, participating in cleanups, ending plastic consumption, practicing climate literacy and consuming sustainable fashion. 

Earth Day believes in the possibility of a sustainable future and they're working hard towards educating kids, community members, and policymakers on how to achieve just that.

"We believe in clean energy, healthy food, and sustainable land stewardship. We believe in keeping the soils beneath solar panels healthy and productive for generations to come. And we believe all of this is possible."

And the Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro who reinvented the classic tale Pinocchio the wooden marionette who is magically brought to life in order to mend the heart of a grieving woodcarver named Geppetto take the Golden Globe for best animated motion picture a first in the category for a streaming service during last night’s ceremony.

Del Toro in his speech saluted the work of the crew and cast saying:

"We gave life and beauty and truth to a tale about life, loss and belonging.”

It's the first time a film streaming won a Golden Globe. As you know if you read my publication Schools: Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio, a animated musical fantasy the long animation was  acquired produced by Netflix Animation and streamed on Netflix since December 2022.

As I wrote, animated movies are excellent educational digital resources to motivate and inspire your students to read and breathe new life into your curriculum!

However, as Del Toro said, "animation is not a gender for kids, it's a medium", teachers decide carefully which students or level they are teaching. And pay attention to age.
